Quite a few of our customers have reported the following email in their inbox.

This appears to contain a link to an infected file containing a Trojan. Please DO NOT follow this link. If you have already done so, please contact us as soon as possible. This email is not from us or anyone else concerned with the security of your PC and network. A sample of the email follows :

Attention!

On October 16, 2009 server upgrade will take place. Due to this the system may be offline for approximately half an hour.
The changes will concern security, reliability and performance of mail service and the system as a whole.
For compatibility of your browsers and mail clients with upgraded server software you should run SSl certificates update procedure.
This procedure is quite simple. All you have to do is just to click the link provided, to save the patch file and then to run it from your computer location. That’s all.

Deliver Outstanding Customer Service Using Customer Manager

I once heard said that 60% of lost business is through “perceived indifference” on the part of the vendor. I have never been able to verify this figure, but looking back on my own dealings with various companies, I can well believe it. Hours spent listening to a recorded voice assuming me how valuable my call is. Promised calls not returned and quotes that take days or weeks to arrive, usually after numerous calls to chase. Facebook Fan Check Panic

Early indications suggest that this may be an elaborate hoax. It is strongly suggested in the trade that the Fan Check application itself is benign, but there are a load of bad sites carrying spyware, which people are finding if they type “fan check facebook” ( or similar ) into Google. Thus driving concerned users into harms way. Very crafty !!

Although a few antivirus people have put in place precautionary measures, nobody as yet has found anything dangerous about this application.
